Come and experience a hawk walk. You will learn to handle and fly a hawk whilst taking in the glories of the scenic countryside. All training and equipment is provided.
For those wishing to experience some falconry as a "taster", a hawk walk provides a good introduction and experience to maintaining these magnificent raptors. Of course we'd happily oblige with further training if you wish to progress this interest further. We can provide you with friendly professional tutoring, guidance and advice. Please feel free to telephone either of our centres to discuss your needs.
Due to the nature of Harris' Hawks (Parabuteo uninctus), who in the wild begrudgingly cooperate with each other in order to hunt, more than one hawk can be taken out at a time. If your group is more than a few people this will not be a problem - please advise us how big your party is when booking.
In addition to the Harris' Hawk we also have a Red-Tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) and a Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo).
Get up close and within talon reach to these magnificient raptors and gain a "hands-on" experience of a life time. The hawk will fly free and will follow you wherever you walk, swooping back onto the fist when called. We are sure that you will find a hawk walk truly amazing - an experience out of this world.
Please note that if there is a particular hawk you would like to meet, handle and learn about, please notify us when you book. This is so that we can advise you which centre you will need to visit depending on the birds location. This will also help us to tailor to your every need so we make your experience even more enjoyable.
Hawk Walks are available on a pre-booked basis only, last 45 minutes and are available at either of our centres, please telephone the centre which you would like to visit to discuss your needs and our current rates.
